Why Heat Your Greenhouse?
Use a best small greenhouse heater to keep your greenhouse frost free and suitably heated in a cost effective way. Maintaining sufficient ventilation and warmth whilst retaining light levels is key to protecting your plants through the winter.
Using Horticultural bubble wrap on the greenhouse is also a tried and tested method. Buy one that has large bubbles as this provides most insulation and light. Use it carefully and it can be stored, to re-use in following years.
During prolonged cold periods cover your plants with Horticultural fleece as well. This will give added layers of insulation and will keep the costs of running heaters down.
Don’t over heat the greenhouse, you can keep your greenhouse frost free at a temperature of 3degrees, this is sufficient for most plants.

Hey thanks for the awesome post! I have a greenhouse where i live, and I actually love it! The heater i have is okay, but it doesn’t have a lot of power, and it’s a big greenhouse. I actually like the looks of the simplicity one. It is a great price too! Have you used all of these, or which one do you like best?
Hi Jessie, Thank you for your comments.
I have clients whose greenhouses I often work in and all these heaters have been used by myself, hence my confidence in recommending them.
Personally I prefer the Simplicity Heater Set as it is robust and well built.

Actually my grandad was big into greenhouses and products to help his plants. I really think this would be a good addition. I shall bookmark the page to show him. I love anything that has to do with gardening. I think overall the post is well organized and there is a lot of knowledge to learn from this as well.
Hello Ian
Thank you for your comments, happy gardening

Thanks for your review! To be honest, I have had the same question a few months ago when I looked for what could be the best type of heater. My search resulted in me believing that infrared heaters were the best types of heaters that are available. It may be more expensive than the ones on your list on the front end, but the benefit of infrared is that it doesn’t heat the air like a regular heater does. What do you think?
Hi Mikhail,
Thank you for your comments and good question about the infrared heaters. I haven’t used one in a greenhouse so I don’t have the knowledge to review one. However I do think they are quite expensive and the heaters I have reviewed are better value for money.

You are informing me about the importance of making use of the heaters. I didn’t think that they were that important. I own one at home where it is firmly taken care of by my mum. well, we both own it though. I like your list here but I will like to know if you have used any of this heaters so i too can make use of it as well.
Hello,
Thankyou for your comments.
A greenhouse heater is important if you wish to extend the growing season and make the best winter use of your greenhouse.
Personally I like the Simplicity Heater Set best of all. I have used them all in various size greenhouses.
Best Wishes
Louise
Making use of the right heater in a green house would really help ventilate and maintain the balance for the plants in there and that to me, is great enough to know of. I have been trying to make my researches o the best heater to get and the Waldbeck Strato Fan Heater has popped up quite a few times. So, when I saw it here, I decided to go for it. The only con is not really a problem for me because I have a stable supply of elctricity.
Hello,
Thank you for dropping by and I very happy to know that I have helped you to make your decision on which heater to get. I hope that you will be happy with it, and what’s more…that your plants will be happy too.
Happy Gardening
Louise
I love the sturdiness and firmness of this the Simplicity heater as that would ensure that it is well stationed and besides, this can blow heat to the whole of the green house and that is cool by me. However, Since it can not be used for bigger green house, I would rather go for another heater because my greenhouse is kind of very big.
Hello Shelley, thank you for your comments. Yes I agree that the Simplicity Heater is not for a big greenhouse, You can get them with a larger kW output however.
All the Best Louise
