Rosemoor And More, Rose Festival
Of all the glorious gardens to visit this summer…Rosemoor has to be my number one choice. From mid-June to the end of July is the Rosemoor Rose festival.
The Rose Garden is spell binding. The moment I walked into it I was overwhelmed by the fragrance floating on the cool air, the sheer abundance of blooms in every colour under the sun. I’m in awe and not a little envious.
To sit and breathe it all in was an absolute pleasure. Pure Horticultural magic.
From the dainty, For your Eyes Only, with its salmon pink, orange and yellow, single blooms to the rambling roses running riot over trellaces.
Shrub roses fill the borders and flower beds. While Darcy Bussell looks resplendent in deep pink ruffles, dancing and strutting her stuff, rosa Long John Silver clambers over the pergolas.

Garlands of roses and Clematis cover rope supports and obelisks.
Some of the oldest and most fragrant rose varieties can be found here. Follow the self-guided rose trail and don’t miss out on any of them.
Pulling all of this together are numerous summer perennials and annuals such as Poppies, Alstroemeria and Hemerocallis to name a few.
The Rosemoor Rose festival is where you will find thousands of roses in flower.
The sight and scent at Rosemoor’s five-week long Rose Festival (15 June – 21 July 2019) – is not to be missed. It’s a breath-taking showcase of the beauty and sheer diversity of roses. It’s mind boggling and a delight for your senses.
Don’t miss it!
Rosemoor is home to two dedicated rose gardens with more than 200 different varieties and more than 2000 roses. From cottage garden climbers, to bright and beautiful container roses. You need look no further for inspiration for every garden style from contemporary to old English cottage style.

Having visited both Harlow Carr and Rosemoor on several occasions I can certainly vouch for them being some of the best days out I have had. The gardens are meticulously kept and cared for, they are a credit to the gardeners.
The restaurants are wonderful, serving delicious fresh food, I had a vegetable soup of the day made with their own produce!
My guest was so impressed with Rosemoor she joined whilst we were there.
