Sika Mould Buster

April is a good time for doing those garden jobs that most of us dislike. Is your garden spring time ready? Read here to find out how you can get your garden ready to burst into spring.

I have spoken a few times now in previous posts about the best ways of keeping on top of jobs in the garden. What Jobs to Do In The Garden In May is a great guide on what your garden needs to keep it ship shape. Check out the Garden Calendar  for a month by month gardening know how.

There are numerous cleaning jobs to do at this time of year, the main reason we gardeners tend to do them in spring is because after all the bad weather usually associated with winter such as snow or prolonged heavy rain, leaf fall, garden debris and dirt builds up and needs to be addressed.

Springtime is a traditional time of renewal and cleanliness and so its the best time to clean patios with and other outdoor surfaces with Sika Mould Buster to have your garden looking pristine and mould free .

Patios, pathways and driveways need a good clean as this helps to set off all your hard work in the garden borders to best advantage. Cleaning hard standings areas in the garden helps to keep disease and harmful bacteria at bay, therefore keeping your garden and plants healthy.

Sika Mould Buster can also be used on decking, I did mine just the other day and it has come up lovely.

Decking, cleaned with Sika

Garden furniture too needs a good clean so you can get everything done and ready to enjoy your garden through the coming months.

Sika is the best product I have come across for this job.

There are various ones to choose from depending precisely on what you need them for.

You will also need a garden sprayer, using one of these is more efficient and cost effective than a simple watering can as you tend not to use as much solution with a sprayer.

Environmentally Friendly

We could get power washers out, scrubs, bleaches and chemicals but why go to all that trouble when you could, instead use an environmentally friendly, effective cleaning solution?

Power washers use gallons of water, which is not acceptable if we are trying to conserve water in order to help the planet.

I’ve used power washers in the past to clean paved areas and patios in my garden but the mess afterwards creates more cleaning jobs.

My home has whitewashed exterior walls so you can imagine after cleaning my patio I need to re-paint too.

For people who might be on a water meter, this cleaning method is also very expensive.

Unlike other patio cleaners Sika does not contain harsh acids or bleach.

It is a biocide based treatment to be used on all hard surfaces outdoors to remove organic growth.

It is biodegradable making it environmentally friendly.

The most effective way I have found of cleaning areas with this product is to sweep first with a stiff yard brush, clearing any loose dirt and debris away, then spray with Sika Patio cleaner and leave it to do its work while you sit with a cup of tea or use your time for more pleasant garden work.

On really badly soiled areas you may need to do another application in a couple of weeks time but this is in cases where areas haven’t been cleaned for many years.

I have tried other patio cleaners before, ones that are cheaper but have been very disappointed with the results. “You get what you pay for” is certainly true with these products.

Sika is not the cheapest but you use less of it as you don’t have to keep repeating the process.

In most cases one application is enough, therefore it is cost effective.

Pros

No Bleach

Quick and easy to apply

Environmentally friendly

So if you need to be cleaning areas around your garden and property to improve the look and curb appeal then this is a product that I can highly recommend.
