6 Best Rated Cordless Chainsaw. Chainsaw cutting through logs

6 Best Rated Cordless Chainsaw Review

Not all gardens warrant the use of a chainsaw as small spaces don’t necessarily have anything growing in them that needs such drastic measures, but for larger gardens with mature trees and shrubs a best rated cordless chainsaw may be just the ticket for those tougher pruning jobs.

I am not looking for heavyweight chainsaws to cut down forests…simply a lightweight cutting tool for garden use, if you need the same then read on for my recommendations.

Pro Tip for using your Best Rated Cordless Chainsaw

“Always ensure that the oil is topped up and the chain is tensioned correctly. This will help to extend chain life and most importantly it is operating safely.

Fully read and understand the instructions for your chainsaw. Be confident in the correct use of it and Always use adequate safety equipment and clothing when operating any powered gardening tools.”

Why I Recommend Garden Cordless Chainsaws

I have come to rely on all my cordless gardening tools and use them on a regular basis. A cordless chainsaw also benefits from the same advantages of any cordless tool.

They are lighter, therefore a lot more ergonomic, putting less strain on joints and muscles. There is less impact on the environment from cordless tools as they don’t burn fuel and the motors run quieter.

It terms of ease of use, there are no dangerous trailing cables, you can take them anywhere, their compact size make them a lot easier and safer to carry and manoeuvre. In view of the use of a chainsaw, IE pruning tree branches, safety is paramount., the cordless option is better for use on ladders when you need to cut higher branches of trees. They are a lot lighter too than a cumbersome, heavy and awkward petrol version.

For me, never having to pull start petrol engines again is the biggest bonus, no more checking every lever, level, settings, oil etc, and then almost wrenching my arm out with a pull cord… Just switch and go…bliss.

Technology has improved immensely over the years and battery life for cordless tools is no exception. This does depend on usage of course but as a professional gardener using cordless tools most day I can confirm that the only batteries I have had to renew are for my cordless grass strimmer.

At just under 8 lbs in weight it is not at all heavy but it is a heavyweight player for garden lopping and pruning in my book.

DeWalt 20V Max XR Cordless Chainsaw

and Tooled Up

Product Details

  • 20V Lithium-Ion battery
  • No tools required for chain adjustments
  • Compact
  • Automatic oiler

Weight 8.8lbs

The DeWalt 20V Max XR Cordless Chainsaw is a powerful but lightweight, compact tool. Lightweight enough to use with one hand, which is a huge bonus when you are working solo.

Perfect for domestic or professional garden use when pruning or logging.

Calling all arborists, this is hardworking tool for the job.

The auto oiler keep the chain and bar sufficiently lubricated whilst in use, you don’t have to stop to check it. There is an oil level indicator to let you know when it needs refilling.

One of the downsides is that you need to empty the oil tank after use as it will leak if this is not done, but this is not a major issue compared with the maintenance needed on petrol tools.

My rating ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
