The Best Cordless Hedge Trimmer Reviews – Can They Cut It?

Today I am going to talk about the best cordless hedge trimmers that are available. These are my top choices and they certainly can cut it, safely and easily.

I include a range of manufacturers and prices to suit all budgets.

Having a versatile range of well maintained garden tools is paramount to taking good care of your plants and garden all year round. Both hand tools and power tools are necessary items.

Small hedges can be trimmed with hand held shears or small cordless garden shears but a larger, established hedge requires more robust, best cordless hedge trimmers.

As you know by now I am a cordless tool enthusiast as they are a lot lighter in weight, quieter and cleaner.

You can take cordless tools with you anywhere in the garden without having to connect to extension leads, or transport them to work somewhere where there isn’t any electric supply, such as your allotment or community garden for example. Trailing cables are a thing of the past.

Please note that where I have included battery run times that they are approximate and are dependent on the products’ application.

When Should I Prune Hedges?

Hedges need to be maintained if they are to continue to look neat and compact and to maintain density. Regular, timely pruning of these important wildlife habitats will keep them from getting out of hand, stopping them from encroaching on other plants around them. Regular maintenance also keeps them in a healthy condition, which of course is vital.

A new hedge should be pruned each winter or early spring in its first few years, to establish the desired shape and direction

Subsequent years and for established hedges they are trimmed once a year if you want an informal hedge or two to three times a year for a more formal approach.

This maintenance trimming is carried out in spring and summer providing there are no nesting birds in it.

If there are any signs of birds living in the hedge then do not trim it from March to September.

Also available from TOOLED UP, along with a massive range of gardening, maintenance, household and DIY tools.

As I said at the beginning of this review I have included products through all the price range so I hope that everyone can find one that is suitable for their needs and pocket. Always clean any garden tools after use, oil and maintain them regularly and they will undoubtedly last longer. When you’re not using your hedge trimmer cover the blades with a scabbard if one is provided and store in a secure garden store, shed or garage.

If you have any questions please do pop them in the comments box below and I will reply as soon as possible.

We all hope to have some decent weather and some gardening time, so let’s get out there and do those maintenance tasks that keep our outdoor space looking its best.
